At the annual Board of Trustees/Board of Advisors lunch in October, Nichols College announced the creation of the Professor Jack Armstrong Endowed Scholarship for Excellence in Accounting, an effort started by regional accounting firms to recognize Armstrong’s contributions to the field in honor of his upcoming retirement from Nichols.
In the past year, two other scholarships were named for or in honor of current faculty members: The Jeffrey A. Halprin Liberal Arts Scholarship, created by adjunct professor and senior writer Ron Schachter; and the William and Lynne Gillen Endowed Scholarship in honor of Professor Jay Price, created by the parents of Hayley Gillen ’17.
In June 2016, John McClutchy created the John H. McClutchy Jr. ’72 Endowed Scholarship in honor of Professor William Steglitz to commemorate the impact of the retired math professor on his education.
