Alumni Return to Nichols for Homecoming Weekend

Beautiful weather and a Bison football win over University of New England made for a happy Homecoming 2018.

Other notable happenings …

Some 20 members of the Class of 1968 were installed as the newest Golden Bison and raised more than $55,000 toward their class scholarship.

Kent Tarrant ’57 received the Ken Thompson Service Award at the Alumni Dinner, where legacy families, veterans, and reunion classes rocked out to the Inexpensive Winos featuring Dennis Gorman ’78 and Bernie Gagnon ’82 MBA ’88. There was a whole herd on the dance floor.

The Athletic Hall of Fame inducted Eileen Clinton ’11 (field hockey), Ryan Gervais ’09 (ice hockey), Jeff Innis ’70 (basketball), and Karen Tropp Veronesi (field hockey and softball coach). Additionally, the 2009 field hockey program entered the Hall of Honor.

Tailgating featured A Taste of Nichols, with food samples from alumni-affiliated establishments, such as Frisbie’s Dairy Barn, Rogue Island, Specialty Sandwich Shop, Publick House, the Taste of Maine and Estes Lobster House, and Sturbridge Coffee Roasters.

The Institute for Women’s Leadership celebrated the advancement of women at Nichols at a special open house.
